Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"There can be infinite uses of the computer and of new age technology, but if teachers themselves are not able to bring it into the classroom and make it work, then it fails." - Nancy Kassebaum
My students are caring, loving, and intelligent third graders.
They come to me from a variety of family settings, but all share the same passion for learning. In class, they love to explore and investigate on their own.
My students share a love for learning and enjoy interacting and exploring using technology. In our classroom, we share five outdated computers that have a tendency to freeze unexpectedly. Students often become frustrated, and struggle to complete learning tasks on the computers. With an iPad, students will be be given the chance to learn with technology as a tool.
My Project
With only a limited number of computers in the classroom, it is very difficult for students to interact with technology on a daily basis. With an iPad in the classroom, students will be able to gain access daily and grow as learners. The iPad will open so many possibilities up for students to acquire and reinforce knowledge, through educational games and applications.
With an iPad in the classroom, students who normally would not have the access to new technology, will have the opportunity to learn from and reinforce knowledge through an interactive device.
Students will be able to take skills learned and turn them into life long skills.
