My students need a computer and computer backpack. They need some place to log their fitnessgram and heart rates. They also need a place to store music and videos for their dance unit.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Where's the computer? How can we keep track of our fitnessgram scores? How are we going to keep track of our heart rate with our new heart rate monitors? It would also be nice if all the music and videos were right on the computer to make it faster to choose songs for our P.E. activities!
I teach Physical Education in a high poverty inner city public school in Indiana.
Our school has almost 600 students who love Physical Education! I see every student twice a week. They are curious, enthusiastic, hard-working and respectful. They come to Physical Education willing to work hard at what ever unit we are doing, take tests, and write thank you letters to donors from DonorsChoose! Almost every activity we do has music with it. And our dance units have a lot of videos they dance to. Sadly, we do not have a computer in the gym!
My Project
My students love technology!! Unfortunately, the gym has no computer! There are SO many things we could do with a computer! We could have all our songs and videos right at our fingertips. My kids would help record their own scores on the computer and track their heart rates. They would be able to graph their progress. This would show them where they need to improve. How cool would that be!!
My students deserve every opportunity to explore and check their progress.
They can take short quizzes on the computer, too. I will be able to post the daily lessons so I am not asked 600 times, "What are we doing today?" Thank you so much for considering this project and for supporting my incredible students.
