Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with an amazing diversity of students! They come from all backgrounds and learning styles and each with their own unique story. I am so excited about the upcoming year and being able to not only work with children in my classroom but children in every grade level. Our area was devastated by a hurricane that has left our small rural town still working on rebuilding. Students very often lack opportunity to extend their learning beyond the city lines and classroom doors.
I am blessed to get to wake up daily and come to school to work with this amazing group of children and watch them explore new venues of learning through clubs, organizations and an extended Gifted and Talented Program!
It is amazing to watch children as they explore new learning and experiences they are not normally afforded the opportunity to see and my greatest joy is watching their light bulb moments.
I provide the power, they generate the light!
My Project
Help students experience places, stories and learning they might not normally be able to experience first hand due to economic restraints. Our area is still rebuilding from the hurricane both economically and structurally. Providing students top of the line technology to create products that Show What they Know, increase student learning and visit (via virtual field trips) places they cant get to. These children are economically disadvantaged and learning diverse AND they are simply amazingly resilient!
These tablets will help grow our digital library choices, Grow on their math skills, explore service project for extension activities and help my students learn their English, Spanish & ASL!
