My students have multiple disabilities and are in a self-contained classroom setting. All students learn using the extended standards and use technology and communication devices to communicate with teachers and peers.
The students in my classroom benefit from a small group setting with minimal distractions, including noise, people moving around and talking.
The students work through independent work, bucket work using manipulatives, typing and one-on-one with the teacher. The students in my classroom enjoy music, computer and playing outside. The students enjoy working together and working with the adults to further their knowledge in the classroom and community.
Receiving the items will allow students to use the technology in the classroom. Students will be assessed using the various ways of manipulating the device and the tools that go with the device. Students will be able to successfully answer questions and be assessed even if they are not able to manipulate a writing utensil, with these devices. Students will get the experiance to use technology because many do not have this type of technology in the classroom or in their lives. Students will get the opportunity to become successful using these tools and becoming more versed with the educational testing.
