Help me give my students an iPad so that we have half a class set for paired projects, an Epson printer so they may print their exciting creations, protective iPad cases and devices for charging iPads.
I teach a diverse group of 25 enthusiastic second grade students, who come from a variety of backgrounds. Some have access to educational resources and technology at home while others have no additional educational resources outside the classroom. The one thing they all have in common is a desire to learn new skills.
One of many skills that my second grade students are really focusing on is writing.
Another skill that we are hoping to work on is using Google Classroom on iPads. My students enjoy writing in their notebooks but are even more excited about creating projects using technology. Many of them have expressed a desire to be able to print their projects so that they may share them with their parents. I find that children do their very best work when they are able to proudly show it to their families.
My class is looking forward to writing and publishing their own stories and other creations. Their enthusiasm is inspirational and I want to provide them with the means to complete and print their projects.
I am requesting an iPad for use in my classroom which would give us a half class set. I want enough iPads that my students can work in pairs on projects. I am also asking for a printer with wi-fi capability. I have been taking a class on Google Classroom and plan to implement many of the strategies and skills I have recently learned to create Google projects for my students. I also plan to teach them how to create their own projects using Google Classroom.
With an additional iPad and a printer my students will be able to create exciting projects and share them with their families in printed form.
