Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In this fast paced and changing technological era, educators need to readily prepare students to face its new challenges. Technological training is necessary for successful attainment of higher education.
There are 33 students in my classroom, who do not have the economic stability for technological exposure in their households.
Since there is a huge number of students in the class, the resources and academic interventions necessary to create successful members of society is spread extremely thin. In addition, most of the students' parents do not have formal education necessary to guide them down their educational paths. The students are eager to learn and embrace new information and technology that is given to them to ensure their success.
My Project
Without technological exposure, students are falling behind their more privileged peers. The budget cuts are making it extremely difficult to prepare students for the world of technology and high education. In order to even the playing field, students in my class will be able to use the scanner and flash drives to upload their exemplar pieces of work to build an electronic educational portfolio, which they will be able to take with them for the rest of their academic lives. Students will learn how to upload their hand written work and put them in electronic form. These files can then be used to create presentations using a variety of different programs, such as PowerPoint, to compete and apply for middle schools showing the potential of work they can do.
It is necessary to prepare students for the technological world we are living in.
This resource will help them build the skills necessary to be better prepared for the entrance into their college lives, where ideas are disseminated in electronic form.
