Mrs. Najera from Odessa TX is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.

Technology In Science

My students need access to more technology daily. They need to be able to research various topics we are studying in order to assist them in designing their own labs. They need an IPad mini.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There can be infinite uses of the computer and of new age technology, but if teachers themselves are not able to bring it into the classroom and make it work, then it fails. - Nancy Kassebaum I would like to be that teacher who makes it work.

My students are energetic and enthusiastic about science and they want to know more.

They love technology and when I assign them a project using technology they get excited. Many of my boys play football and several of my girls cheer. My students are all unique. We are a Title I school in Texas with a population of about 525 students. They are middle to low income families, many of whom do not have access to computers.

My Project

Our classroom only has 4 student computers. Trying to do research projects can be a nightmare when you have a class of 30 students. Having an iPad mini to access the Internet will alleviate some of the congestion and frustration of waiting in line to use the computers. It would also allow me to be able to allow the students to work in groups on projects.

Technology is the future and my goal is to teach my students the importance of technology outside of texting and games.

Research is important in high school and college. I want my students to be prepared and know what to do and how to do it when they are asked to perform.
