My Students

Wouldn't it be great to give students technology that they could use all day and across the curriculum. There are several applications for the iPad that would assist my students in learning. Including: student responders, iMovie, note taking apps.

Our school is located in a lower socioeconomic part of town where parents struggle to provide for their children.

Children come ready to learn, but often times without the supplies and or background knowledge from life experiences as compared to peers from another part of the city. Many of our students do not have the technologies of our world, but have the greatest need for the engaging activities and opportunities that technology provides in our classroom and all of education.

My Project

We have worked hard to afford our classroom one iPad and Apple TV. My students light up when they're the one chose to work out a problem and project it onto the screen. With four more iPads, more students will be able to engage in work, project it on our Apple TV (mirrored), and be proud. They will practice their fluency on the iPads, make iMovies and trailers that are related to Science and Social Studies. They'll be able to record their reading passages and interact with one another.

Recent budget cuts and the struggling state economy has brought new challenges for both families and teachers in our district - especially when it comes to the topic of education and providing supplies for the classroom.

The teachers at our school are dedicated to student learning and wish to provide the most fulfilling, well-rounded education possible. This project would enrich the lives of my students for year.
