Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In 2012, with the rapid advancements in technology, not all children have equal access to technology. I would like to change this for my first graders.
The students in my school live in high poverty and attend a year around school.
All of our students receive free meals due to their low economic status. Most of my class are English language learners. My first graders are hard workers and are always eager and willing to learn despite their hardships.
My Project
The tablet will give my students access to technology that they would otherwise not have. They have very limited access to computers at home thus making technology only available to them in school. The tablet will assist my students with various literature applications that will encourage them to read. The tablet also provides other activities that will make learning fun. My students will enjoy practicing the skills learned in class with the tablet.
My students need a tablet in order to explore, to be academically challenged and to be engaged in early literacy developmental skills.
You can help my students achieve this goal by donating to our project.
