Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from different countries in Latin America. Some of these countries include El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala.

Many of my students have traveled with their families and are looking for a better life here in Houston.

Many of them have never been to school, so their cultural level is quite low. Even so, they come to the school with a great desire to know and learn new things.

My Project

This tablet and headphones will continue to improve the classroom technology that I fight for. The tech corner of my classroom is a place my students really enjoy: they practice reading, writing, math, and work independently. Every tablet placed in the technology corner is treated with care because my students know that it is a rare commodity, hard to come by, and provides them with many learning opportunities. They are grateful for the opportunities to have them. I have seen my students during the last few weeks at school improve, for example, in addition or subtraction because they have practiced in a playful way. Students will be able to continue practicing in different subjects, which will help them continue to enjoy independent work time.
