My classroom is always changing and challenging to the students. They love technology, and I try and incorporate it into as many lessons as I can. By making connections to literature and the world they live in, the characters come alive and the students become more engaged.
We have many disadvantaged students in our school, many with sad stories, and it is so important to take every opportunity to make a difference in their lives.
They are eager to learn and try new things, which makes every day unique. They love to discuss and argue their opinions, and are getting adept at finding evidence to support their views. They like "hands on" activities, and using the technology that we do have available. Middle school students are creative, fun, and challenging at the same time, which is why having new technology in the classroom will be beneficial to all of them.
My Project
We will be using the wireless printer to print essays from their google drive accounts. We will use the Jambox speaker with a projector that I have, which will make hearing videos much easier! Also, to have chromecast and an Apple TV will make learning more fun as they can go on various webcasts and project to the class.
We will be doing an Earth Day unit next month, and the added technology will help the students look for information, be able to project that they have made (and hear it), and be able to print in the classroom.
There are not many places to print in our building, so having the resource in my classroom will be very beneficial.
