My Students

The students of my class are kind-hearted, eager-to-learn, diverse students with a wide range of learning abilities. Lots of my students are English Language Learners. Most of my students are living at poverty level and seek our school for many needs outside of their education.

The diverse cultural and learning needs of my students makes my classroom a special place.

All students can feel safe to learn and express themselves in order to grow as students as well as people who will grow-up to be active members of their community!

My Project

Technology is an amazing tool that has become an intricate part of our society. As a classroom resource, tech allows teachers all over the world to have access to almost anything with a few simple clicks.

Being able to have a set of tablets within my classroom will allow my students to have access to so much!

They can build background knowledge, see an image of an unknown object with seconds, build communication skills, learn facts and research skills and grow as readers and writers. These are just a some of the skills they will be able to gain from using tablets within the classroom.

I am also seeking materials for guided reading. One of the most effective methods I have learned is to differentiate instruction. Providing children what they need in a small group is extremely beneficial to all learners. By using resources that are engaging as well tools that can help increase fluency and comprehension will improve my students reading abilities. By having tablets, and various reading kits I will be able to provide differentiated instruction often.
