My students need an Apple TV device and remote so they will be able to view whatever I have on my iPad during instruction.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Technology is an essential part of my classroom and teaching style. This coming year, I will flip my classroom. In that process, there are things I need to be able to engage my students so they will "buy in." Why not connect my iPad to my projector and display exactly what I'm doing to my students?
My students are incredibly savvy city kids who navigate this big city as if it was second nature.
They are not only "books smart" but completely "streets smart." They are also technologically inclined and demonstrate that by quickly adapting to any new technology project I introduce to them. They also are unimpressed when I incorporate technology into my classroom because to their generation, this is what makes sense. It's time that our classrooms embrace this new student skill set. My part of the adjustment will be a "flipped" classroom.
My Project
With an Apple TV device, I will be able to connect my personal iPad to the projector in my classroom. When I am teaching students how to watch the flipped videos at home, I will be able to demonstrate to them how to find, use and learn from the video at hand. I will also be able to directly show how to use applications like Evernote, Notability, and so many more!
The Apple TV will give my students an easy way to view how to use the technology provided to them.
My seventh and eighth graders are ready for this next step into incorporating technology into our classroom!
