Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is one that strives to find the scholar in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, strengths, and a drive to succeed. Sometimes all it takes is exposure and proper motivation. The students in my class strive for excellence. We are a truly loving community in which the students inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects of life. They push one another to reach for the stars!
My class consists of 28 amazing, smart, spunky, creative, fun-loving little people.
They love to be challenged and are constantly asking questions to further their learning. One of their favorite things to do is research! They enjoy using the Internet to find facts and information to answer questions they have about the world. One of my biggest goals for my fourth graders is that they enjoy learning each and every day! Developing this love at an early age is crucial for the beginning of their career as lifelong learners. What better way to develop that love of learning than to include exciting and engaging technology in our lessons?
My Project
This technology would allow my students to explore their questions about the world around them! It would also teach them the necessary skills to navigate technology that will let them answer their questions. In today's digital world, this is a very important skill. Unfortunately, many do not have access to this type of technology at home. We are a Title 1 school, which means that many of our students' families struggle financially to make ends meet. This makes it that much more significant that they are getting this exposure in school. My fourth graders would use this laptop to collect research , watch educational videos that explain the concepts we are learning about in the classroom, and also to publish writing pieces, and much more!

Our world is continuously changing into a more demanding digital age. The jobs many of them will be competing for after graduation require high-level technological skills. This project will provide my students more exposure to the type of technology they do not have access to at home, but need the exposure to in order to ensure they are ready for high school, college and beyond!
