This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher that is in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students face challenges daily within the classroom and outside the classroom. Although these students face many challenges, I am hoping to bring a joy into their lives at school with fun, creative, and learning experiences.
When my students walk through the door of my classroom, I like to focus on their potential to grow as a student and to always do the right thing. My students are clever, they like to move, and enjoy getting lots of positive attention.
I may not be able to control their home lives, but I can most definitely control what happens within my classroom walls. I hope to inspire all of my students to try their very best in a creative and positive way.
My Project
These tablets will be used to create an engaging and motivating learning environment. Students will use them to complete research, read Achieve 3000 articles, use math programs such as IXL, and offering them a chance to gain independence. This will give my students the opportunity to stay proactive within the classroom.
Due to the lack of technology and resources within my school, my students are at a disadvantage.
In order for my students to be successful they must learn more about technology and become familiar with it. It is very important for my students to stay connected, engaged, and motivated to learn through these tablets.
