Technology For The Students
My students need an iPad mini, Kindles for reading books, Apple TV and a subscription to Time for Kids to help with the transition to Common Core (STEM).
Technology is used everyday and is taken for granted. Many students still do not have access to technology. WIth the transition to Common Core, it is essential for these students to participate in STEM learning to further their skills and prepare them for the future..
I teach a reading intervention class which consists of mostly English Language Learners.
Most of these students in my class come from homes where their parents do not speak English. They are diverse in their home language, race, socioeconomic level and special needs. They want to succeed but sometimes do not have the resources to accomplish their goal. It is essential that I reach the needs of all my students. These students love technology. If I can provide access to technology, my students will be more likely to succeed.
My classroom does not have a computer that the students can access. Using the iPad and Kindles in our classroom, it will provide hands on experiences and provide access to numerous books at their level. With the transition to common core, it is imperative to have access to the most up to date events. My students do not have a lot of access to books at home. Adding the kindles to the classroom will help them become better readers. They will have access to borrow books from the Kindle. This will give them a chance to increase their love of reading.
All students love technology and will be able to further their skills when given a chance. The Apple TV will also allow students to view their peers' work and receive the help they need.
It is essential that I reach the needs of all my students.
These students love technology. If I can provide access to technology, my students will be given a better chance to succeed.
