My Students

I work with K through 5th grade students who have communication delays. The global pandemic with Covid-19 has made everything extra challenging even more so this year. Learning loss is real. Teacher and staff shortages are real. Every little bit helps to make our learning environment more manageable and accessible.

Making speech therapy more engaging, accessible and fun helps us all achieve our goals.

We all want to be efficient communicators and your donation will help us communicate with peers and staff better within the school environment and beyond.

Our school is part of the 5th largest, very diverse district in the nation. With that, funding education has been a struggle. Teachers have had to face frozen salaries multiple times throughout the years on top of the challenges Covid-19 has brought. Your donations are very much appreciated.

My Project

Our job as Speech Language Pathologists rely heavily on technology. We use our computers for virtual sessions, online therapy and activities, google meet and zoom meetings, writing/completing reports and other required paperwork to creating lessons and materials. We also often have to work outside our speech rooms.

Having a laptop allows flexibility, access and convenience to our jobs.

I don't have to be tied to my desk to work on my computer desktop. I can bring the laptop to our speech sessions and have the students work on Boom Cards, Pink Cat or other fun, engaging programs as we practice and work on their speech targets. If we ever have to pivot back to distance learning with rising covid cases again, I have a device that's ready to meet the demand.
