Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have a computer lab but they aren't able to print extra sheets of paper for their own challenges. Their teacher has no access to make copies of small items, at their request. They need a classroom printer.
I have approximately 600 music students this year and all of these young musicians come from a high-poverty area of East Harlem, in New York City.
Our school is a public school where the teachers are organized, work hard, and work towards grants and DonorsChoose project often - for the benefit of our students.
My Project
Many students want to be challenged further beyond what we do in the classroom and that is the reason why they need to be able to print something out at a moment's notice. This way, they can work on the material and bring it back mastered the next week. Not only will students learn the new material but they'll learn that motivation is the true key to education.
I have great resources and we use websites often for further challenges and musical development but what good is all of these great resources without the ability to print?
Even making a copy is hard to do with so many classes each and every day. This printer, warranty, and ink cartridges will help my students and their teacher.
