My students come from very diverse backgrounds. Many of my students come from homes where English is not the primary language. Others live in poverty.
I always strive to make my classroom environment a safe and inviting place for my students to learn.
I teach at a community school, where 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite the challenges they face, my students come in every morning eager to learn. I truly believe the school day is the best part of my students' day.
My Project
Working in a Title 1 school is very difficult. We often go without a lot of supplies. Thankfully, we are blessed with 6 iPads. With class sizes increasing, most of my groups will be 6-7 students.
I am hoping to add an iPad to the classroom to help all of my students have iPad time.
We use the iPads every day! We use some of the best reading programs on the iPad. We play Teach Your Monster To Read, Ticket To Read, and many more sight word games. We also listen to stories on Epic and Storytime Online. The iPads are also used during small group math. We play challenging math games like: Prodigy, Freckle, and IXL. I am hoping to supply every student with an iPad during a center rotation.
