We want to bring all ways to learn to our students. It will give our preschoolers the opportunity to use and experience technology. It will start the learning process for apps they will have to use as they continue on in school. They are young and entergetic and eager to learn. Some of them are not able to use iPads at home coming from a low income area. It will help them to be engaged in learning and enjoy reading, letters, numbers and other fun activities. It will build their knowledge and skills to prepare them for kindergarten.
My Project
Having additional iPads will bring more opportunities to broaden the learning of our students. They will also get time to be more technology ready for kindergarten by having the opportunity to explore, practice and use the websites they will use in future grades. It will also help them to gain knowledge in learning their letters, sounds and onto reading. The more time they are able to spend with learning letters, sounds, and reading the better and stronger readers they will become. It is very important that children begin to read at a young age so they are continuously successful as they go through school.
We want to have all the opportunities possible in our classroom to provide technology into every day activities.
Being a low income school with budget cuts we are not able to purchase new iPads for our preschool room. Unfortunately, there are only two available for the 16 students in the room at this time One is used to practice reading so the other is used to do activities on. However with 16 students they don't all get the chance to aquire more knowledge and understanding of technology or ehance their learning due to our lack of resources.
