Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are awesome! The work hard and they strive for excellence. As an educator I strive to find the leader in all students. I believe that every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is motivation and exposure to new experiences. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.

My three classes are made up of 25 students each.

Each class brings something different and unique to class each day. The one common goal that each class brings is the thirst for wanting to learn and grow. The tablets will be used in student led groups that are intended to encourage teamwork and collaboration.

My Project

My students are curious and open to explore new things! They are so full of life! They enjoy hands on things and searching for new information. It is a joy to watch their minds work when they have discovered new things and gained knowledge. You can hear the excitement when they share it with the class! With the tablets I am going to use them in my six student led stations and my one teacher led stations. This technology use would allow the students to be actively thinking about more information, making independent choices, as well as executing skills better then when the focus is on teacher led instruction.

This type of curiosity needs to be nurtured and encouraged to grow!

In my class, I have found that my students are more engaged when there is a technology component to the lesson which makes sense since they have not known a world without technology. I would rather feed their curiosity in the way they learn best and provide materials for them to be able to explore even more through the lens of technology!
