This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a proud pre-k teacher at a low income, high poverty school. All the students at my school receive free lunch. Many of our students receive food bags to make sure they have a nutritional meal over the weekend. My school also serves many students from diverse cultures.
I am so lucky to be able to teach these bright, young students and give them opportunities to grow and learn.
My little learners receive a solid foundation on which to build new learning experiences. I provide fun and creative, play based activities for these children who need them the most!
No matter what life hands them, my students come in with huge smiles and warm hugs ready to learn, because they know they are coming to a place where they are loved, cared for and safe.
My Project
My little learners are very limited when it comes to technology outside of school. They need chances to see, hear and touch tablets and computers to be able to expand their knowledge beyond my tiny classroom.
My little ones love hands-on learning experiences and need to be fully engaged so they succeed in learning skills that will follow them to Kindergarten and beyond.
Their small hands, poor eye-hand coordination and lack of fine motor skills make it very difficult to use regular computers.
I believe this iPad and iPad cases will make it much easier for them to be successful using and learning with technology!. They love anything to do with technology and computers. Technology is the way of their future!
