I have an amazing classroom of loving and extraordinary K through 2nd grade ESE students in a separate classroom setting. Our school is a Title I school where more than 80% of students receive free or reduced price lunch. They have incredible energy and are hands-on learners. I want a classroom that is a safe and caring in an interactive learning environment. I teach academic and social and emotional lessons.
My students have a unique range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, emotional and social support, autism spectrum disorder and other specific learning disabilities.
I encourage my students to be the best they can be. They learn through active play and celebrate each others achievements. I want to encourage my students to be independent and responsible.
My Project
My students are in need of portable, durable tablets that they can use for educational apps, independent centers, and mainly small group instruction.
My project is about bringing technology into the classroom with the needs of my Special needs students in mind.
All of my students love technology but we lack access to it in the classroom. This will give the students access for self-learning and to have engaging small group lessons.
Cushioned and durable headphones with volume control for special needs and noise sensitivity is important when on technology. Headphones that are supplied by the school usually break easily and are not comfortable for students with sensitivity needs.
