This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is a small rural school located in Louisiana. We currently have 510 students. The school consists of 70.7% African-Americans, 25.9% white students, 2.6% Latino, and .7% Hispanic. Our students come from very economically disadvantaged families who struggle to provide basic needs for their children.
My school serves students in grades 2-5 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment for students.
My school is also a Leader in Me School. Our students are always eager to learn new things.
My Project
In order for our students to engage in STEM activities, we are in need of Chromebooks. Technology plays a major role in learning in education today. With these two Chromebooks, my students will be able to complete activities that focus on science and literacy skills.
Besides completing STEM activities, these Chromebooks will allow my students to also practice their basic reading skills.
Many of my students are on different Reading levels. These Chromebooks will help me reach all students of different levels. Since students enjoy using technology, they will stay engaged and motivated to learn. In the end, these Chromebooks will be beneficial to our classroom.
