This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My scholars are most interested and involved in learning when my presentations are vivid and technology based.
The students are from a small town north of Indianapolis.
Many of the students are first generation Americans who's parents work long hours at the Frito Lay plant. Students depend on our school and classroom for more than learning. About 80-90 percent of the students receive a free and reduced lunch. The school works hard to provide a learning rich environment with unique supports and a much needed structure.
My classroom is filled with students who can read from a preschool - 7th grade level. Their math skills are equally diverse.
My Project
Every day I have students who want to use technology to research, understand, and enhance their learning using tools that they do not have at home. My classroom is filled with students who can read from a preschool - 7th grade level. Their math skills are equally diverse. I will be able to reach each of them at their level through the use of technology. This year I have bought over $400 in online programs to aid in the goal of learning.
Scholars will use these tablets every day with Reading A-Z, Flipgrid, and Youtube.
Scholars will research poets, authors, and the books we read. We will record our reading of interactive books and novels. We will research historical events, take interactive field-trips, and conduct scientific experiments. The students will come to their class prepared and ready to take part in the excitement of learning and leave with a better grasp on the important topics we discuss daily.
