My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, smiles on their faces, laughter, ready and excited to learn about the new adventure in store for them.
I teach at a Pre-K Counts that resides inside of a rural school district, where most of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
My students range in the ages of 3-5 where cognitive, social, and emotional development is most important. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
Being in the 21st century, our students are exposed more and more to technology. My students need some technology that is age appropriate (not just a parent's IPhone). Their fine motor skills are still developing, therefore, being able to manipulate a mouse and/or a keyboard will frustrate the child.
Having a tablet that is touch screen will mean minimal frustration and more success!
Also, many of our preschoolers have already used some sort of touchscreen technology (for example: their parents phones) having this type of technology readily available will also be able to improve each child's independent skills, as they can interact with the tablet by themselves.
