Within my resource classroom I have a wonderful range of students with Individualized Education Plans. All of my students require modification and accommodation for their specific needs. They all learn at their own pace, in their own ways. As a result, I have a need for a variety of books that include financial literacy and a variety of different reading levels.
My students are highly motivated to learn about skills that will impact their futures, and the future of their families.
These young men and women are capable of learning these important skills to increase their future independence, if given the right opportunity and support and resources.
Each student within my classroom is unique, caring, and capable. They all are striving to learn to the skills and tools necessary to become independent and productive members of our community.
My Project
The students within my Special Education Personal Finance classroom need access to technology in order to successfully navigate the curriculum, communicate effectively through Google Classroom, and complete activities and research to help them learn how to navigate the world of banking, investing, budgeting, paying for college, and funding retirement. These are lessons that are vitally important for every student to learn, and the chromebooks will allow for the modification and accommodation within the curriculum for my students with Individualized Education Plans to be better able to access them.
My students will use these chromebooks daily to access curriculum, complete assignments, work cooperatively on research assignments, and use interactive websites to learn about the world of personal finance.
They will take these lessons beyond the walls of our school in order to be more successful adults.
