Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hardworking and excited about reading and math. They love helping each other learn and are particularly excited about books, and hands-on math materials. This year we are learning about the weather, community helpers, the environment and authorship. We try to connect our learning between various subjects.

My students love any chance they get to explore independently.

Many of my students speak Spanish and English or are learning English and we make sure that students' home languages are always valued in our class.

My Project

Our students are going to live their entire life in a world where they will be expected to work on digital devices. We currently have 6 old tablets that all 24 students in the classroom have to share, and all of them are cracked.

This project is a huge ask, but my students deserve every opportunity.

Having these tablets allows students to continually access customized education and give me as the teacher real time feedback, so I can intervene and help students in the areas where they need it the most.

Preparing students to work with technology should be our highest priority going forward.
