To prepare our students for the 21st century in both career and college, they need to be exposed to current technology. They need technology in their hands each day.
My students are the future.
But, for now, they are 2nd graders. They are bright with a passion for learning. They are natives to the age of technology and use 21st century learning skills. My students have grasped the idea of using technology like computers, tablets and other devices. Now, I'd like to capitalize on this while increasing engagement in my classroom. The educational needs have changed so much over the years; therefore, the students will benefit greatly from having additional pad and apple TV in the classroom.
My Project
Technology opens up the world! Students can create, learn and communicate. Our school, staff and parents understand the importance of the use of technology and are looking for ways in getting technology in the hands of our students. With an i pad, students can create stories using digital storytelling applications. They will learn how to create presentation type projects. Students will also utilize i Pads to use the many wonderful applications to strengthen important skills. As a teacher, I'd like to capitalize on the fact that my students are are becoming more and more technology proficient by utilizing the i Pad and Apple TV for lesson and demonstrating purposes. Our school has also started a "bring your own" device program and not all students have devices at home to bring. This i Pad would be placed in the hands of that less privileged child.
Unfortunately, with current budget cuts, it is now more important than ever to reach out to our community for support.
Just one iPad and Apple TV will enable me to create and present vivid and engaging lessons. Just one iPad will get us closer to our goal of having technology in the hands of students on a daily basis.
