My students need a Macbook Pro to serve as a control station in my music classroom, to play and edit music, recorder and edit video, and to help with skills such as note reading.
My students are an inspiration to me when it comes to music education. They are excited sponges that just love to absorb knowledge and expand their creative selves. It truly amazing how quick they learn new things.

My students are absolutely amazing and they love music. They come to music once a week and they just want to play all the instruments and participate. My music classes are full of singing, movement, and instrument playing.
My Project
In my music classroom, the students create, learn, and perform awesome music. However, a few years ago, I noticed that in many instances, there was a disconnect between the interpretation vs reality of their ability. Think about it, if you're singing a song, performing a dance, or playing an instrument, you truly can't reflect on these accurately unless you can record and watch yourself. I've been recording my students and having them reflect on their performance, and by doing this, I noticed that the students could properly self-critique their music and this process also motivated the students to practice their music. The dilemma is that our current Macbook computer base-station laptop is from 2011 and is too old to handle these tasks. This is why I need this Macbook to help edit and play these video self-assessment. Also, the students will use this computer to edit and play music in the classroom through free programs like Garage Band and iTunes. The computer will also be used for note reading games like "Staff Wars," (a note reading game with a Star Wars Theme). The computer will also be used to edit video footage of the concerts, so students can watch and self-reflect on their performances. In reality, this computer is an essential tool and will probably be used for many more things to come in the music classroom as well.
