Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am teaching social studies and science to all of our 3rd graders this year! They love to learn and get their hands dirty. My students live in an extremely low-income area which often limits their exposure to life experiences. Because of this, I try to bring as many real-life discoveries into our classroom that I can. My students take on every challenge head-on and would love to have a science-based classroom!
My students work really hard to achieve our classroom goals, I want to make sure they have everything they need to be successful.
That includes having the support and resources they need to help them build their love for science and education!
My Project
My students and I would like to request a 3d printer with filament to explore science in a hands-on way! I have been researching fun and engaging science lessons to do with students and would love to introduce my students to 3d printing. In our classroom this year, we have been focusing on finding new solutions to solve real world problems. I would like to get this printer to have students create models of animals, weather, planets and fossils we are working on. I would also like to allow students to explore and create plans for Mars colonization. Work on creating animals to sort into kingdoms. I would also like to allow students to create prototypes of machines to help with recycling! The possibilities are endless with 3d printers and I would love to provide my students with this opportunity! Thank you for considering this project!
