My Students

As a teacher in a rural low-income school district, I work with children that face many daily challenges. My students need support is so many areas. They need every opportunity and experience we can provide

Kindergarten is a year of exploration, a year of joy!

My students engage in learning through hands-on experimenting, testing, investigating. This group is the movers and doers. By meeting their emotional and developmental needs, my classroom becomes a safe place to take risks. They challenge themselves to learn more.

My Project

We NEED computers. Our reading and math curriculum have many tools online that we are unable to access at this time. With computers, my students would be able to listen and follow along to their reading stories online.They could play the math games and use the virtual manipulatives that go hand in hand with the actual manipulatives we use all the time. They could do the math practices with a fun approach.

Computers in our classroom will open up a world of opportunities.

I have been teaching them coding. Having computers in our classroom would allow each student to practice their coding skills independently.

We need growth data that can be monitored through online assessments. By having computers and mice in the classroom, my students can take the assessments at their pace, during times that work for them and our schedule- not recess or choice time.
