My students need iPads and covers with keyboards to help connect in a technological world by accessing the internet and educational apps while practicing their typing.

My students are inquisitive and energetic third graders.
They start each day full of excitement for what we are going to learn and how are they going to challenge themselves. My classroom is a mixture of backgrounds and abilities, but we all strive to attain the same goal - GROWTH! I want to my kids to feel successful no matter their academic level. I feel in our building, this is present in every classroom, every day with every adult. We have students that come from a mixture of backgrounds, but by everyone having equal access to technology we are breaking down those barriers.
My Project
I am requesting two iPads with covers and keyboards attached that will be used across a variety of academic areas. Students will use these iPads and keyboards to take reading comprehension quizzes using the Accelerated Reader Program. They will also have access to a wide range of apps to help support the area of mathematics, more specifically, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, telling time and word problems. This extra hands-on practice helps students connect with their learning in this new technological age. With the case and attached keyboard, not only are we protecting this valuable resource, but giving each of these students the opportunity to practice and reinforce their keyboarding skills.
By receiving donations to this project, my classroom will become a level playing field of opportunities and extensions for all.
When a student walks in my door they are to feel valued and appreciated. By giving every child the same opportunities for learning, I am creating an environment free of limitations. This iPad will allow every student regardless of their academic ability or economic background, the chance to expand their learning through technology.
