Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach middle school students in a district that is filled with diversity and hope. Students are still learning to understand themselves and others. My students continue to discover approaches to learning that yield a successful outcome. Students are participating in extended learning opportunities to increase learning outcomes. Attendance is a challenge in the midst of the pandemic and some are doing exceptionally well. My school is a Title I school wherein more than 95% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch and more than 50% of the student population are English language learners (their first language is not English). The school is located in an area that has its challenges with combating violence and gang activity. Regardless of their situations and circumstances, my students continue to be open-minded and resilient as they move forward in the midst of challenging times. Failing is not an option!
My Project
Assistive technology is one of the driving forces in education for students. The eight Amazon Fire HD 8 - 10th Generation tablets and the Microsoft Office Pro Tablet are useful tools because they are flexible and portable. The Amazon Fire HD 8 - 10th Generation tablet will assist my students in all of their subject areas as well as with effective communication, visual scheduling, decision-making skills, video modeling, social networking, and entrepreneurship. My students will be exposed to higher ordered levels of thinking, and they can assist in the promotion of creativity and aid academic learning.
From the Projects to the Penthouse for these Innovators.
I will be teaching them a curriculum directly related to Entrepreneurship to help close the generational gaps of poverty. The books Finance 101 for kids and How to Turn $100 to $1,000,000 will be infused into my lessons. My students will be able to create business plans, products, and marketing ideas. Their ideas and creations will be unlimited.
