My Students

My Montessori students learn by using hands-on materials in our classroom. They do well when they have concrete materials to manipulate and explore. This type of learning creates an intrinsic motivation necessary to excel and get excited about education.

One of the setbacks of being a small Montessori school is the lack of money available to purchase new materials essential for my students' exploration and learning.

My students come from a variety of backgrounds and show great dedication and commitment to our school. We are a small K-8 Montessori charter school with around 240 students, yet we have a lot of heart.

My Project

Because of our stay at home order, teachers have found themselves in a position where they need to rely solely on technology for teaching. This is the case for me, and I am still trying to master making a video while clumsily holding a whiteboard on my lap and getting my phone to stay upright.

After some investigation, I realized there is a better way to help my students by utilizing a tablet that allows me to write directly on the computer and a phone holder that will prevent my phone from sliding down.

Hopefully, I will be able to get these items quickly and put them to use immediately for teaching lessons, particularly math.
