Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Help me give my students adaptive technology through the use of Ipads and Apple Pencils!

I have had the opportunity to teach wonderful 4th grade students this year and grades 3-5 for distance learning.

Our motto is: if we can believe it, we can achieve it. This has been seen in all of our staff members, students and families. I work with a diverse group of student with unique backgrounds and needs.

My Project

I have always used technology in my classroom. My district has worked hard to make sure the students have access to technology. My team at my school shares 30 Chromebooks between 3 classes. This means that technology is not always available.

I want to make sure technology is readily available to my students, particularly my small groups.

If our district decides to do virtual learning again I would need these tools to support my learners. The iPads will allow the students to multi-task and show their work to me. The students are more engaged during learning while using iPads.

Many of my students have shown great academic improvements through their use of technology. The iPad and apple pencil would be a great resource for the students. The students would have access to audio books during read alouds, text-to-speech programs while writing, online assignments and math practice using the apple pencil. By having these tools in my classroom, I know that my students will show an increase in their learning.
