My Students

Our school is located in a rural high poverty area of the county. The students come from diverse backgrounds and many have experienced more in their short lives than any human being (young or old) should have to encounter.

Many of my students have challenging circumstances but they do not let that stop them in trying to reach their goals each and every day.

Building a sense of community and normalcy by providing students with an idea of a future beyond their current living situation is our main priority. We want to open students eyes to the big world around them and show them how they can be successful in it.

My Project

Financial literacy for my students is imperative. They need to know how they can budget, save, and calculate their money so they can have a successful future.

My students come from homes that struggle to make ends meet.

Allowing them to learn about money and how to handle it at a young age will help them creative a positive future.

My students need a Chromebook to use interactive games to learn about money in a fun and engaging way. My students would also benefit researching about money and the origin of money. The more they are able to learn about money, the more aware they will be of the importance of effective money management.
