My students need an iPad to complete independent reading centers and to make my promethean board mobile. We also need a scanner to scan materials for the whole class.

My Students

In today's society the best way to get a child motivated is to bring out an iPad or any type of technology. They think it is all fun and games and forget they are learning.

I teach first grade at a small rural Pre-K to 8 school in South Louisiana.

It is a tight community that works together. Our parental support is amazing! My students are smart and hardworking. I want to encourage and drive them to do their best each day. I implement technology daily in my class to help get them ready for their future. I have a wonderful and diverse class of 21 children this year. I love my job and students!

My Project

My students need an iPad for many things in our classroom. First they can use it in independent centers to practice skills in reading and math or read eBooks. Also an iPad will help make Promethean boards mobile; you can walk around the class and still be in control of your board. Students can answer questions by writing on the iPad and the whole class can see it on the Promethean board. The scanner will be used to put documents up so the whole class can work together. First graders need to be taught how to complete worksheets and by using a scanner and the Promethean board I can better help and teach them.

Technology opens doors to so many possibilities.

Through this technology my students would receive a first hand look at what the future can hold. My students will experience something exciting and engaging on a daily basis. They will be better prepared for their futures.
