My school district does not have a center that provides homeless students with clothing and basic items to keep warm during the winter months. Students are English language learners (ELLs) who are learning the English language in addition to their native languages.
The ELLs in my classroom represent diverse languages and cultures from around the world.
The majority of my students in the United States come from Spanish-speaking countries. These Hispanic children may have many things in common such as customs, foods, dances, values, and the Spanish language. However, there are also many rich cultural differences within and between countries like Argentina, Mexico, Cuba, and El Salvador.
Providing students with this opportunity to be exposed to new, exciting and unfamiliar ways of learning through technology and media would: encourage my students to learn through differentiated instruction, provide them with a sense of ownership in their learning, ignite a zest and passion in my students to learn something new, and boost their test scores and self-esteem.
My students and I will benefit from the use of this technology.
I will utilize the Amazon Fire tablets daily. The Amazon Fire tablets would assist lessons in all subject areas especially reading and math. Your donation will make it possible for our students to have fire tablets so that they can fully participate in the learning process.
