My Students

My students learn best when they do the majority of the talking and sharing. I currently do not have a document camera or a projector, which makes it difficult for them to share their work.

I teach at a high poetry school with a high ESL population.

At home, they often do not have access to technology and their parents do not speak English. Therefor, it is essential that my students have the best technology to engage them in the learning and to get them to learn as much as possible as quickly as possible. Document cameras and projectors are two of the most essential tools in the ESL classroom. Having visuals and having more opportunities to share their work will expedite their learning.

My Project

My students currently can only share their work with other students by holding it up. It is often too small to read and the students in the audience quickly lose focus and interest. Document cameras and projectors are an essential tool to keep the students engage and to boost their self esteem by sharing their ideas and work.

Keeping my students engaged and interested in school is necessary for their success in school.

One of the best ways to do this is by having them spend a great deal of time sharing their ideas and their work. Having a document camera and projector will help me make sure my students are prepared to succeed in middle school and high school.
