Hello! My class is full of very enthusiastic 2nd graders. They love to learn anything I throw at them, no matter the level of difficulty. At our school, we do literacy centers including three rotations according to their individual learning levels. We set goals and try our best to achieve them.
My students work hard to strengthen any areas in which they struggle.
I work in a Title I school. The neighborhood that surrounds us is full of loving families. My school is extremely supportive and we are not only a big team but a family.
My Project
I am requesting a MacBook Air and a Microsoft word subscription. Currently, we are in a time when we have to provide distance learning from home. I have to interact daily with my students and video chat with them. I need a good quality and sturdy laptop to perform these tasks needed to continue educating my students.
With this laptop, I will be able to access online professional developments and navigate through necessary platforms to teach distance learning.
I am currently the Math Contact person at my school and have also been attending a Cognitive Guided Instruction (Year 1) training. During these professional developments, a laptop is very helpful. Mostly all of the resources are online. I also try to create my own activities for students to do by trying to universally design activities to tap into different learning styles. Microsoft Office would be a great program to help me with that. I can make slideshows with pictures for my visual learners and so on. Microsoft office also has Outlook, which is the way we receive emails in our school.
The Apple Macbook Air will help me perform teaching tasks online for my second grade students and help me better myself as a virtual educator.
This will help me to use the information I am learning in my professional development and apply it to my daily teaching. By bettering myself as a teacher, I will be able to keep students engaged in the classroom and at home with the better lessons that I can plan. The more I can learn, the better I will be able to teach my children and make sure that they are getting the best education they can possibly get especially under these unusual circumstances called distance learning.
