This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are enthusiastic young learners! They love hands-on learning, exploration, and creation. My students love to question and explore the world around them. In the classroom, students are encouraged to be their best, express themselves, grow as they take creative risks and explore their creative genius.
My school is a Title I school in which every student is entitled to free breakfast and free lunch.
We service many students with special needs, as well as a large population of ELL (English Language Learners) students. In recent years, we have a growing number of students who live in foster homes and shelters. Our school also has a growing number of students from other areas that have been affected by natural disasters. My students work hard each and every day to combat educational and/or personal struggles that they may be facing.
My Project
These Samsung tablets will help my students prepare for the future. Technology is everywhere--it affects how we live, work, play, and most importantly LEARN! With the rapid growth and advancement in technology today; it only makes sense that our school also effectively deploying mobile technology in the classroom. These Samsung Tablet and the applications they support will engage my students in the learning process, give students access to information more easily, help prepare students for their future careers, help me to connect with students of all learning styles, help students become more responsible, and so much more!
In our school, we are strong supporters and believers in our students and their futures...we strongly focus on college and career readiness!
I want to make this vision even more visible in my classroom by transforming the learning experience with technology. I want my students to have access to an incredible amount of new opportunities. With the rapid advancement in technology, I want my classroom to be remodeled to fit the evolving needs of my “modern” students. I especially want to engage my students in the areas of math and science. With the tablet, I want to integrate these subjects across other subject areas. This will allow my students to see how school subjects are not isolated to the classroom but that they are connected with many other subject areas and how they connect to the real world. The tablet, protective cases, and memory cards will also allow my students to grow into mature and responsible learners.
