This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am an educator who works in a Title I elementary school

where a majority of our population are ELL students and families.

About 90 percent of our students receive free or reduced lunch.

We are second grade class of Special Education Students that is a part of the Autism Academy at our school. Our class consists of 7 students with Autism, ADHD, speech impediments, behavioral issues and other disabilities.

Each student has their own special needs and most have a hard time communicating those needs. Our classroom needs help in obtaining the materials needed to reach to these young minds.

My Project

A few of my students have a hard time communicating their needs and even completing assignments. The iPads will help my students access apps that will help build language and educational apps such as Teach Town, to help build social skills, which is also part of our curriculum.

The iPads will help my students communicate their needs help build their speech and language skills.

Students will be able to work on their individual educational goals and keep them engaged. They will also be able to access educational apps to help them in many areas such as math, social issues, reading and even behavioral goals.
