We are a class of 24 fourth-graders full of knowledge, laughter, fun, and compassion! Pushing each other to be our best, yet realizing mistakes are made and learning from them is most important. We pride ourselves on connecting with one another while being responsible 'family' members in our class and school. Our school is an extended family to everyone that walks in the door. Although, we (as a class) have come up with creative options and ways to try to be successful while learning, for many students these options are not enough. Research shows movement is a necessity in learning - crossing the midline is important for fine and gross motor skills as well as balance and coordination, etc. Having the ability to move all day long for nine and ten year-olds is essential.
My Project
These Chromebooks will provide opportunities for students to gain experiences with technology, allow students to become more independent with skills for learning, as well as helping them become more proficient readers, writers and mathematicians.
Technology for All is for EVERY STUDENT that sets foot in our classroom.
Whether it is a reading assignment or book that is read aloud to students, writing a literary or persuasive essay, watching a video that helps students understand more about a concept, working on an independent/ group project, or practicing math facts and learning on their own with a flipped classroom, these Chromebooks would benefit each and every student for this year and years to come.
For many students, in school is the only place they have access to a computer, Chromebook, or piece of technology that involves a keyboard and mouse. These Chromebooks would be an asset and used multiple times daily to continue to help ensure student success.
