My Students

My public school is in a larger metropolitan area with an enrollment of approximately 550 students in a Pre K through fifth grade setting. I am a special education teacher who works within the general education classroom to support learners in reaching their potential. Many students benefit from having access to technology for their learning as well as recording and self assessing their regulation.

I work with students in grades first through fifth who are English Language Learners and also receive special education services for academic and behavioral needs.

My Project

Technology is a tool that can provide students access to an equitable education. It is an integral part of today's world and the students I work with do not have access to tools outside of the school setting.

The opportunity to have ready available access to an iPad will support my students both academically and behaviorally to develop and demonstrate grade level skills.

Academically, students can access classroom material in a digital format, respond in a digital format and have the flexibility to work in an alternate space. Behaviorally, students can be supported in learning self reflection and monitoring strategies.
