Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a kindergarten teacher in a Title 1 school. My class consists of 19 students who come to school each day wanting to learn about the world around them. I would love to be able to create Power Point presentations about my Science and Social Studies units to include real photographs and video clips. We will soon be studying the life cycle of the butterfly. It would be so beneficial for students to view a Power Point presentation about the stages of the cycle including real photographs from the internet. They could also view an actual butterfly emerging from a chrysalis from a clip inserted in the Power Point. The Power Point could also include digital photographs of my students' drawings depicting the butterfly life cycle. My students would be so excited and would remember the concepts more readily than if I show them a picture in a book. Most of my students are from low-income families and will not be able to travel to see the world. I would like to bring the world to them in my classroom. In order to be able to show the Power Point presentations, I need a notebook computer, a multimedia projector and a cart. Please consider funding this proposal.
