Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a small Pre-K thru 5th grade school in the Houston Independent School District which includes some of the hurricane Katrina evacuees. We reside in a high need, low resource area where most of our students don't get the chance to ever touch or even work on a computer or other technology. I would like to give my students the chance to work with some modern technology. The following is a list of materials which I believe my students will benefit from and appreciate.
Printers- I do not have a printer in my classroom. My students work on special projects and they don't have a printer to print out their projects. Most of the time, I have to save their projects and print them from my home or Kinko's. With a printer in the classroom, the students can print their work the same day.
Digital Camera accessories- The students love seeing themselves in pictures. This way, they can see their projects and show their parents what they are learning in the classroom.
Computer accessories - The computers in my classroom are old and they don't have the accessories need for some of the software to run successfully. My students love working on the computer. They are learning and also having fun learning.
I want my students to have technology at their fingertips. By granting my proposal, my students will get this opportunity. Thank you in advance for helping my students achieve their goals.
