Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you sleep in a bed every night? My kids sleep on floors, to my chagrin; therefore, I want to improve their future prospects. I envision my students being multiple times richer than the richest person on earth, so they can become our future philanthropists!
My kids are the brightest, smartest, most adorable and kindest gentle souls.
Their spirit is filled with hope, life and of course laughter. They enjoy learning even more than I do, as I see their little precious faces beaming with joy every morning! As I'm having a conversation about 'Singularity' with my own Angelic-Offspring (almost men/sons), I often ponder at the type of endless opportunities of conversations my students can have in their future courses in life with their parents, friends, teachers and colleagues. Ideally, I would like an iPad in each of my student's hands, but for now, one iPad will be suffice. We can use the iPad and the table top computer amongst the 47 students as necessary. Thank you!
My Project
With an iPad, my students can be the change they want to see in the world one seed at a time! As I previously stated, "Be the change you want to see in the world," Mahatma Gandhi. My students apply this quote in my classroom and dream big every day as I've taught them to understand how Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs helps them to become our future philanthropists. With an iPad, my students' world will initially change; in the end though, they will be the change the world needs to be! PEACE, HOPE, LOVE, EDUCATION! Currently, I find myself running around from child to child supporting their research from our table-top computer. My students are learning two languages; therefore, searching for the translations of metamorphosis, chrysalis, caterpillar, adverbs and/or adjectives to describe these phases and life-cycles in both English or Spanish is truly difficult. I find myself doing most of the support, so to expedite the use of the computer from one child to another.
With an iPad, my students' world can change!
I truly believe we can change the world one child at a time by providing multiple tools and resources to these miraculously future beings who will one day manage our world, business, laws and lives. They will be our educated movers, shakers, givers and takers or they can be our partakers and kindly sharers! (You get the drift...) They will be able to do research on any given activity in class.
