Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the privilege of teaching twenty-eight, 11-year-olds in a low-income area. For most students, school is the most consistent and safest environment. As their teacher, I want to make sure they feel welcomed and loved within my class.
The kids come to school every day eager to learn.
Due to limited resources, school is the only place the students are given the opportunity of technology. The students all love technology and any opportunity to get up and move around!
My Project
My students do not have a lot of opportunities outside of school to experience technology. I quickly noticed that they thrive during technology time. Coding has become one of their favorite elective subjects in our classroom. We have one Dash robot and the students are working hard in our tech time!

I want to give them as many opportunities as possible to experience different technologies that could lead to desired careers in their future. The Dash Robot has shown them the beginning to a great experience of coding! I want to continue encouraging my students in this area by providing the students a Dash Robot and a Kindle Fire tablet to use the app.
