I teach a multicultural school of explorers who have a desire to learn using technology. I love all my students, they visit my technology classroom lab every 4 days for forty-five minutes. I teach over 400 students who are 100% free breakfast and lunch. My future leaders love to use a variety of technology while gaining skills and knowledge from coding to creativity. I love each student, and they all bring a diversity of talent and smiles when they enter school. Students still need to learn the basics from keyboarding to computer programming. Each student has the opportunity to attend my clubs that I host after school. Yearbook, Girls who Code, Coding, STEM and photography clubs. The extracurricular activities allow the students more time to expand their creative skills with small groups to collaborate and celebrate lifetime learning achievements.
Many students are lacking the creativity, tinker, and building designs. Having these Magna Tiles, hands on building materials gives a footprint on how foundations work. When using computer software such as "Tinkercad" for the 3D printer and "Scratch" for coding knowing structure design is important. Students who are creative come up with the coolest stories and computer designs with self-confidence to explore and share their achievements. I love to provide in our technology lab a variety of blocks to allow hands on design. Students also write instructions for classmates to rebuild their designs. Older students can reproduce their designs to be printed on the 3D printer. With technology taking over with many students during their home life, I like to reinforce creativity play using hands on building materials in the computer lab.
